Product review

Made in the USA, the Manta X2 is constructed from industrial-grade ballistic nylon treated for water resistance and tear resistance. The underside and the magnet wings are finished with a rubberized polyester to reduce slippage and to protect tank paint from abrasion.

The bag mounts with strong fold-away magnetic wings and ships with a small detachable shoulder strap plus a grab handle for off-bike carrying. Internal organization includes a single roomy main compartment, an internal phone sleeve set into the lid, an external mesh pocket on top, and a small outer pocket suitable for cards or keys.

Its low-profile silhouette is designed to reduce wind drag and to fit tightly under a rider’s chest on sportbikes. It’s intended for use on steel tanks (magnets will not attach to aluminum or composite tanks). Attachment requires a bit of positioning to seat the wings correctly; once set the magnets provide a secure hold at highway speeds.

Pros

  • Strong magnetic attachment
  • Durable, water-resistant ballistic nylon
  • Rubberized base protects paint and adds grip

Cons

  • Not compatible with non-ferrous tanks
  • Limited internal security (easy to remove)
  • Smaller capacity compared with tail or backpack options

VerdictA compact, well-made magnet-mounted tank bag that suits aggressive riding positions and sportbikes. Strong magnets and a grippy, rubberized base keep it stable at speed, and the layout fits daily essentials. Check tank material compatibility and don’t rely on it for unattended security.

Reviews

  1. Elevator Tech 83 5/5

Handy gift — roomy for its size

Stays put and carries more than it appears. Ideal for a wallet and even a cap. Makes a useful present.

  2. Aimee 1/5

    Paint damage from magnets

Magnets wore through the lining after a few months and small metal bits scratched the tank down to bare metal. Awful outcome — ruined the finish.

    Ideal fit for my Triumph

Snug on my Triumph 675R and looks tidy. Holds everyday items with room to spare. Build feels premium and the magnets grip firmly.

    Holds through falls

Very strong magnets. I’ve dropped the bike a couple times and the bag never shifted an inch.

Great compact option for a Ninja 400

Exactly the size I needed. I fit insurance papers, my jacket liner, disc lock, wallet, phone and keys with a little room left. A Nalgene strained the zipper. The mesh pocket fits a multi-tool; the phone pocket is hard to view while mounted. Magnet placement needed tweaking but once settled it held firm at 70mph, though it slightly blocks access to the ignition.

    Very capable on the ZX6R

Fits my Ninja ZX6R perfectly. Small but holds a wallet, electric pump, repair kit, a packable rain jacket and a multi-tool in the top mesh. Magnets are surprisingly strong for the size. For larger loads I prefer a backpack or tail bag.

Pricier but great for sportbike riders

I ride a GSXR1000R and needed something slim to fit between me and the tank. The main compartment is one large space; the outer pocket fits a wallet and my Note10+ slips into the phone sleeve in the lid. Comes with a small shoulder strap and fold-away magnets that are very strong. Works only on steel tanks. Quality zips and materials. Not theft-proof, but the carry handle helps for quick removal.

    Just what I wanted

Perfect small bag for wallet, keys, knife and phone so I don’t carry items in my pockets. Slim profile preserves the bike’s looks and the magnets hold well while commuting around 70mph. I avoid heavy rain so can’t vouch for long-term waterproofing.
