Product review

This digital lab scale is a compact analytical balance designed to handle up to 600 grams with a resolution of 0.01 grams. The removable weighing pan is made from stainless steel for easy cleaning and routine sterilization, and the platform is sized to accept most small lab containers without blocking the display.

The unit ships with the scale body and stainless steel pan; a mains adapter can be used to run the scale continuously while two 1.5V AA batteries provide portable operation when mains power isn’t available. Note: calibration weights are not included and must be obtained separately if you plan to recalibrate the instrument.

Switch among six measurement units—grams (g), ounces (oz), carats (ct), pennyweight (dwt), tola (T), and grains (gr)—with the MODE key. The large backlit LCD shows results clearly, while built-in features such as the tare function and piece-counting assist common lab and workshop tasks. An auto-off timer powers the unit down after 270 seconds of inactivity to prolong battery life.

Calibration relies on user-supplied standard weights (recommended 200 g or 500 g per the instructions). The balance offers quick response thanks to a precision strain gauge sensor, making it suitable for classroom experiments, hobby formulations, and basic gravimetric tasks where 0.01 g resolution is acceptable.

Pros

  • High sensitivity at 0.01 g resolution
  • Six selectable measurement units
  • Dual power: AC adapter or AA batteries

Cons

  • Calibration weights not included
  • Less consistent below ~0.05 g
  • Some users report higher battery drain

VerdictA capable, budget-friendly analytical scale for general lab, classroom, and hobby use. It delivers reliable 0.01 g resolution for routine weighing, supports six unit modes, and offers useful features like piece counting and tare. Users should be aware that very small masses (well below 50 mg) may require a higher-resolution instrument, and calibration weights are not provided with the unit.

Reviews

  1. Svelte 5/5

    Great for homemade cosmetics

Really happy with it. I use this to weigh ingredients for lotions and soaps and it handles those recipes well.

  2. Happy 5/5

    Works as expected

A good, functional scale for general use.

  3. Ashley 5/5

Reliable for 50 mg and up

Performs better than expected for the price. Tare holds steady and it's dependable from roughly 50 mg upward. If you need trustworthy results below 50 mg, consider a scale with 0.001 g readability.

  4. Andrew 3/5

    Reasonable but not ultra-fine

Decent for basic tasks. At very small masses it can be off by more than 0.01 g; after calibration my readings were closer to ±0.03 g.

  5. Angel 5/5

    Accurate but watch battery behavior

Solid accuracy and precision overall. My only gripe is it seems to drain batteries faster than some older, less precise scales; sometimes it shows low battery on power-up. Hard to say if it’s the unit or the rechargeable cells I used.

  6. Adam 4/5

    Student-lab friendly and compact

A step up from basic pocket scales: feels solid, stainless steel pan is easy to clean, and the base stays put on a bench. It’s compact without sacrificing platform size, the controls are intuitive, and the display is readable under bright lights. The dual power option is convenient for field or lab use.

  7. Trixyinaz 1/5

Disappointed — calibration requires heavy weights

Feels cheaply made and no batteries included. When I powered it on and tried to calibrate, it only accepted a 200 g or 500 g weight, which weren’t provided. I returned it rather than buy separate calibration weights.

  8. Estela Ynés 5/5

    Meets specs and arrived early

The scale performs to its listed specifications and it was delivered ahead of schedule.

  9. phdorgchem 5/5

Affordable option for high school labs

Many teachers bought these for HS STEM labs. They’re inexpensive, sturdy enough for student use, easy to calibrate, and give acceptable accuracy. Make sure they’re level and calibrated before class.

  10. Pedro CDMX 5/5

    Satisfied for simple tasks

Does what I expected for routine weighing and basic projects.

  11. MIRVAT RIDA 4/5

    Clear display, no further comment

Large digits and easy to read.

  12. Travis 5/5

Good for low-resolution work if you learn its quirks

After a few days I found better repeatability by adding a small mass during tare (about 60 g), zeroing, then placing samples gently. With practice and proper calibration weights, you can get many identical readings. Expect precision near ±0.005 g in favorable conditions, but be prepared for occasional inconsistency unless you handle and calibrate carefully.

  13. Mike Hogan 5/5

    Responsive customer support

Had trouble with calibration and tare at first. Customer service replied quickly and guided me through the correct steps, which solved both issues.
