This product is a pack of ER4043 aluminum TIG welding rods sold as a 5 lb quantity. Each rod is manufactured from an aluminum-silicon alloy containing about 5% silicon, producing good fluidity and improved resistance to heat during welding.
Rod dimensions are 3/32 in (approximately 2.4 mm) in diameter and 16 in (406.4 mm) in length. The rods are intended for use as filler material in TIG applications and are suited to aluminum alloy workpieces and aluminum castings.
Shielding is normally supplied as 100% argon, or an argon/helium blend depending on welding setup and desired arc characteristics. The alloy chemistry favors smooth weld puddles and a well-formed seam, which often reduces the need for aggressive post-weld cleanup.
Typical applications include fabrication and repair of components in rail equipment, chemical processing, food-industry fixtures and general aluminum alloy assemblies. Use these rods as TIG filler wire while maintaining proper shielding gas, torch angle and travel speed for best results.
