Product review
Developed originally for horsemen working in hot, arid Australian conditions, this product is presented as a 14 ounce container of beeswax-based leather conditioner. The formulation centers on natural beeswax combined with a conditioning base to preserve, moisturize, waterproof and strengthen leather fibers.
It is packaged as a thick paste intended for use on a wide range of leather goods: saddles and tack, riding boots, gun cases, handbags, shoes, car seats and household furniture. The paste is applied sparingly with a clean cloth, sponge or soft brush, worked into seams and exposed surfaces, then allowed a few minutes to absorb before buffing for a finished look.
Recommended for both hot, dry climates and bitterly cold, dry regions, the product aims to protect leather from drying and cracking while also improving pliability. Because of its dense consistency, it can take extra time to penetrate stiff or chilled leather; warming the piece slightly speeds absorption. Proudly manufactured in the USA and commonly used by leatherworkers and equestrians for routine conditioning and protection.
Pros
- Deep conditioning and water resistance
- Works on many leather items
- Large 14 oz container for extended use
Cons
- Can darken lighter leathers
- Thick, goopy texture
- Less effective on very cold leather without warming
VerdictA practical, heavy-duty leather paste for routine maintenance and restoration. It penetrates many types of leather to restore suppleness and add a layer of water resistance thanks to beeswax. Expect some darkening on pale leathers and a dense, paste-like texture that may require warming or a second application in very cold conditions. Overall a reliable, cost-effective option for large jobs and re

Quick absorption, no residue
A small amount spreads far. On my car’s leather seats and steering wheel it sank in fast and didn’t leave a greasy or sticky film. Very pleased with the performance.

Surprisingly effective restoration
This felt like a miracle on battered saddle bags I picked up. I tend to be skeptical, but the conditioner really improved their look and suppleness. It performed exactly as demonstrated and delivered a very satisfying transformation.

Great for deep restoration
I like that it’s a paste, so a little goes a long way. For very dry leather you may need two coats to restore oils. I recondition donated saddles and this product gives them a new lease on life.

Soaked in fast, noticeable change
I treated a waxed leather couch and loveseat with this paste and the leather accepted it quickly. It altered the appearance somewhat, which some might dislike, but I was okay with the result. I tested on a cushion first, then spread it evenly over hidden and exposed areas. The paste vanished into the leather with no need to wipe off excess. I hoped for more shine from the beeswax but got a pleasant, low-sheen finish. A second application might add sheen.

Covers a lot of leather types
I condition boots, vests, saddlebags and seats with this. It’s easy to use, not offensive in odor, and leaves leather soft with a nice shine. It’s economical for the quantity you get. One caveat: it doesn’t penetrate very cold leather well; once warm it soaks in and performs as expected.

Brought my old shoes back
This conditioner revived stiff, tired leather shoes. It’s simple to use: rub a small amount in with a cloth, let it absorb, then buff. Repeat as needed. The beeswax helps with moisture and softness.

Works well but has an off-putting scent
I’ve used many leather softeners and usually avoid petroleum-based formulas, but this one penetrates nicely. The smell is chemical rather than waxy, which I don’t like. I prefer a more natural-smelling conditioner, though this product comes in a large container and is effective. It’s thick—almost gooey—but reliable overall.

Excellent moisturizer — will darken light hides
Many leatherworkers suggested this product and it lived up to expectations for softening and conditioning. It does darken leather, which seems normal; applying mild heat while working it in intensifies that effect. It won’t give the shell-like waterproofing of an acrylic finish, but multiple coats raise water resistance. I tested it on veg-tanned scraps and sun-faded boot toes with good results.
