Product review
Contents and package: Each container holds a 5.3 oz supply of flake food intended for cichlid species.
Ingredients and formulation: The recipe uses a variety of fresh seafoods plus ocean kelp and spirulina to meet the mixed dietary needs of opportunistic cichlids. It intentionally omits rendered meals, hydrolysates, digests and other pre-processed protein concentrates, relying instead on whole-source proteins.
Nutritional highlights: These flakes are a source of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids to support immune function and overall vitality. Natural beta-carotene from salmon ingredients is included to enhance flesh and fin pigmentation.
Tank and waste considerations: The flakes are manufactured to be naturally insoluble so they break down slowly, which helps reduce immediate water clouding. The formulation also contains relatively low starch levels to limit excess waste production.
Guaranteed analysis: Crude Protein (minimum) 34.76% / Crude Fat (minimum) 11.37% / Crude Fiber (maximum) 1.11% / Moisture (maximum) 7.45% / Ash (maximum) 5.99%.
How to use: Feed appropriate amounts to your cichlids once or twice daily, removing uneaten food after a few minutes. For fry, crush flakes into fine particles until they are small enough for the young to consume. Flakes can also be mixed with pellets for fish that prefer a varied texture.

Too powdery
Terrible — more like dust than flakes. Fish had trouble nibbling and tank got cloudy despite heavy filtration. Won't purchase again.

Perfect for fry
My go-to for cichlid fry — crush a few flakes in minutes and they eat eagerly. Fry are healthy.

Works for picky parrots
Our blood parrots struggle with pellets, but they take these flakes. Ingredients seem solid and the water stays clear.

Mostly crumbs, strong smell
I filled feeders for a trip and the food was mostly crumbs with a strong fishy odor. Bought pellets to mix in hoping for better texture.
