What’s included: one liquid foundation bottle (30 ml / 1 fl oz) of the updated Double Wear formula, available in a 57-shade range matched for diverse skin tones.
Formula and feel: This oil-free liquid has been reformulated to be more fluid and breathable while delivering medium-to-full, buildable coverage. It dries to a dimensional matte that reads lively rather than flat. The texture is lighter and more flexible than the original version, allowing layering for added coverage—allow each layer to set before adding more.
Performance claims: The brand states up to 36 hours of color-true wear that resists transfer, sweat, and most environmental challenges. The finish controls oil immediately and is intended to reduce sebum production over weeks, while helping skin retain moisture for up to 72 hours.
Key technologies and actives: A breathable polymer mesh matrix helps the foundation move with skin and lock pigment for long-lasting shade stability. The Double Balancing Complex (including Alganiacin) combines humectants like glycerin and hyaluronic acid for immediate hydration, plus niacinamide and brown algae extract to assist in reducing excess oil production over time.
How to use: Apply to cleansed, prepped skin. Use fingertips, brush, or sponge to spread a thin layer, letting it fully set before building additional coverage. For best wear, pair with oil-free, silicone-friendly primers or moisturizers. Removal requires a thorough cleanser or makeup remover due to the long-wear formula.
Pros
- Long-lasting, color-stable wear
- Hydrating yet oil-controlling formula
- Wide 57-shade range
Cons
- Requires strong makeup removal
- Can interact with oily skincare
- Some users report scent or shade shifts
VerdictThis relaunched Double Wear keeps the signature long-wear, matte look while adding hydration and a more flexible texture. Works best with compatible skincare (oil-free, silicone-friendly) and requires thorough removal due to str

Impressive longevity; very satisfied
My complexion stays even and fresh-looking for days on end—honestly, I’ve gone multiple days without reapplying and it still looked decent. I topped up brows and lips and I was good. Shades for deeper tones were a win for me; I tend to keep two bottles on hand because I’m on the go a lot.

Works well on deeper skin tones
Great performance on darker skin—stays in place and doesn’t transfer during wear.

Great option for mature skin with large pores
I touch my face a lot and this foundation stays put without settling into pore lines, which is a relief at 50+. Coverage builds without caking and a little product covers a lot. Shade matching was successful for me. I would prefer a pump top, but it’s my everyday go-to and lasts well through normal wear.

Longtime fan pleasantly surprised
I’ve used Double Wear for two decades and feared the change, but the updated formula surprised me. Shade was slightly deeper but flattering, coverage felt fuller and gave an airbrushed look. It had a subtle sheen compared with the original matte. It clings well—I needed makeup remover wipes at night—but it stayed put during a sunny day and earned compliments.

Worked well for mature, drier skin with a trick
Still a favorite after years. I found that applying a richer cream (I used a classic Lait-Crème) under this foundation stopped it from clinging to dry patches. The foundation then glided on, didn’t accentuate texture, and lasted all day while keeping a naturally smooth finish—great for mature skin that needs some extra slip underneath.

Longtime user—now requires product matching underneath
After years with the older formula, I initially struggled with the change. The new version is less drying but needs oil-free, silicone-based skincare under it to perform properly. Once I switched my primers and moisturizers, it held up well—even on a long flight—looking natural and lasting through the day.

Reliable all-day wear
Holds up through a full day and does not transfer. The lighter-feeling new formula has worked well for me—I’ve been using it for over a decade and it continues to deliver long wear.

Prefer the older version
I’m not a fan of the recent changes. I enjoyed the previous formula more and didn’t feel the update improved things for my skin. The older version was a go-to in a crowded market; I don’t see why it needed revision.

Shade was too light for me
Liked the texture and longevity, but the color ran lighter than I expected for my complexion.

Lovely finish, shade ran darker than expected
I adore the reformulation but my chosen shade turned out too deep and warm for me. I’m blending some of my paler original bottle into it to balance the tone. Performance is excellent — it no longer needed powder for most days and the finish is a natural satin. Application with a brush then patting in gives the best effect for me.

Scent and texture turned me off
I loved the original but the new formula disappointed me. The smell is strong and unpleasant, the consistency thinner, coverage lighter, and the shade seemed paler. My family won’t repurchase; we’re switching brands.

Natural, enhancing finish worth the spend
This brought me back to a classic I once used. It glides on for a subtle dewy look that reads like improved skin. I prefer pouring from the bottle to control product use. Shade matched well, and overall it feels like a quality foundation worth investing in.

Still royally effective at blurring pores
The new texture is thinner and slightly tacky at first, but it smooths and blurs as it sets, closing the appearance of pores and plumping skin. It’s less drying than the former version and feels more flexible on the face. One thin layer already softens texture; once settled it looks hydrated and natural while remaining adaptable.
