Product review

Included in the package is a single 100-foot spool of 12 AWG speaker cable designed for audio distribution over extended distances.

The conductors are oxygen-free copper (OFC) to maximize conductivity and minimize signal loss for clearer audio on long runs. The cable is a true 12-gauge specification intended to support low-resistance connections between amplifiers and speakers.

The outer jacket is flexible to help route the wire around corners and through tight spaces; the jacket displays polarity markings along each foot to make positive/negative orientation easy to see and maintain during installation.

This cable carries a UL CL3 rating that permits in-wall and ceiling installations when local codes allow. It can be run behind walls, through attics, or along eaves for patio and poolside systems, and works with common terminations like banana plugs and spade lugs.

Installation is straightforward: feed the jacketed cable through conduit or behind walls for a clean finish, trim and terminate at amp and speaker ends, and enjoy long, clear runs without repeated connectors or extra signal degradation.

Pros

  • Oxygen-free copper for low signal loss
  • CL3 rating permits in-wall/ceiling runs
  • Flexible jacket with polarity and foot markings

Cons

  • Can feel stiff in cold conditions
  • Occasional reports of gauge inconsistency—verify before big jobs
  • Not for unprotected direct burial without conduit

VerdictThis 100 ft 12-gauge OFC speaker cable is a solid choice for long speaker runs, outdoor setups, and in-wall or ceiling installations due to its CL3 rating and low-loss copper conductors. The jacket is flexible with easy-to-read polarity and length markings, simplifying installation for DIYers and pros alike. A few users note it can be a bit stiff at lower temperatures and there are isolated compla

  1. Dan Cokic 5/5

    Accurate listing and quick arrival

Item matched the description and arrived promptly.

  2. Tim L. 5/5

Durable for shop and outdoor use

Sturdy, thick cable handled shop conditions and exposure to heat and cold. Confident it will hold up outdoors; highly recommend.

  3. David Whitta 5/5

    Did the job

Performed exactly as needed for my setup.

  4. J. Henderlite 5/5

    Heavy-duty build

Solid, robust cable ideal for protected wiring runs.

  5. Julie Mooney 5/5

Ideal for a dedicated home theater

Bought two reels (500 ft) to wire a 7.4.4 home theater. CL3 rating made ceiling and in-wall runs straightforward, and the visible portions blend in. Great sound and a tidy finish — I would buy it again for another theatre.

  6. Ran 5/5

Covers long yard runs without issue

Split the 76 m roll across four backyard speakers, longest run about 26 m, and it performs well. I pulled most of the cable through underground conduit — the jacket fed easily without a puller. On the amp side I used banana plugs; speaker ends got 2.5 mm ferrules that fit the conductor snugly.

  7. N2HIFI 5/5

Well suited for in-wall HT wiring

Used in-wall for a 9.2 basement theater. An electrician remarked it looked as substantial as electrical cable. Maybe overkill, but the extra durability made it an easy choice.

  8. Mical 5/5

    Good overall quality

Nice quality cable that performs well for typical speaker runs.

  9. andrew gayle 5/5

    Waterproof jacket and accurate length

Impressed by the waterproof jacket and that the length was accurate. I plan to purchase additional spools; quality appears solid.

  10. Stan 4/5

Genuine 12 AWG for club installs

A bit stiff but fine for a new club install. Cable is true 12 AWG and handled speaker clusters and monitor runs with no audible loss on 50 ft lengths. Tip: warm it in the sun to increase pliability.

    Gauge didn’t match my expectations

I expected true 12 AWG but the conductors measured closer to 14 AWG (~2.5 mm). It didn’t meet my needs and I’m disappointed.

  12. Jorbel Lim Bing Hong 5/5

    Fast delivery and sturdy construction

Shipment arrived quickly and the cable looks well made. Haven’t completed full testing yet, but jacket and build feel robust.

  13. José Alfonso Canché 5/5

    Good conductor and sound

Appropriate gauge for speakers with solid conduction and clear audio reproduction.
