Product review

Package contents: two Kicker BKM604W 6.5" KM Series 2-way marine coaxial speakers supplied as a pair in bulk packaging. No additional mounting screws or accessories are included.

Design and materials: Injection-molded polypropylene midwoofer cones treated for UV resistance, Santoprene (Santoprene) surrounds and PEI dome tweeters form the acoustic components. Baskets and grilles receive UV protection as well to resist sun exposure.

Weatherproofing: Motors and cones are sealed to resist splash and spray, and locking terminal covers help keep connections dry. The speakers are built to meet marine-grade expectations for salt and moisture exposure.

Hardware and construction: Mounting hardware is formed from 316L stainless steel to limit corrosion in marine environments. The overall enclosure is optimized for outdoor use; grilles are integrated and treated for long-term durability.

Performance and electrical: Nominal impedance is 4 ohms with a sensitivity around 90 dB. Frequency response spans roughly 35 Hz to 21 kHz. Peak power handling is 150 watts; recommended continuous power (RMS) is about 50 watts per speaker for clean performance.

Fitment and packaging: These are OEM-style marine replacements intended for boat installs; they may require spacers or adapters in non-marine applications such as motorcycles. Items ship in bulk packaging without extra mounting hardware or decorative trim.

Pros

  • Weather-treated cones and grilles
  • Sealed motors and locking terminal covers
  • 316L stainless-steel mounting hardware

Cons

  • Ships without mounting screws or accessories
  • May need spacers for non-marine fitment
  • Some buyers report frame durability issues

VerdictThese 6.5" KM coaxials deliver loud, clear audio with marine-focused durability thanks to UV-treated components, sealed motor assemblies and rustproof stainless steel hardware. They suit boats and other damp environments when driven near their 50W RMS recommendation, though buyers should be prepared to source mounting screws separately and watch for fitment nuances on non-marine vehicles.

Reviews

  1. Kelley 1/5

    Frame cracked after short use

I fitted four into a fiberglass buggy. Sound was okay, but three of the frames developed cracks after a couple weeks despite not over-tightening.

  2. Elaine 5/5

    Great value and solid sound

Very happy with these — clear audio and good volume for what I paid.

  3. M-LO 3/5

    Missing mounting screws

Speakers perform fine, but the package had no mounting screws. Finding matching black screws was a bit of a hassle.

  4. Mark 5/5

Quick install, sounds great on the boat

Simple to mount and they deliver crisp, loud sound on my pontoon.

  5. Jason 5/5

    Impressive sound

Very pleased — they sound amazing and are easy to drive.

  6. Gerald P. 5/5

    Replaced saddlebag speakers successfully

Swapped these into a used Street Glide to replace 6" bag speakers. So far they’re performing well and holding up.

  7. Mike 5/5

Excellent sound, required spacers for bike

Audio quality is impressive. The grille is part of the speaker, so I added spacers on my motorcycle fairing since they are marine-oriented units.

  8. Stacey L. Reames 5/5

Loud, clean output for a DIY project

My son used these to build a waterproof Bluetooth speaker box — he loves the volume and low distortion.
