Product review
This kit supplies 30 prewired 0603 warm-white SMD LEDs intended for miniature lighting tasks. Each LED is the SMD 0603 size (approximately 0.06 × 0.03 × 0.03 inches) mounted on very fine micro litz wire about 7.87 inches (20 cm) long. The wire pair is color-coded for polarity: the anode lead uses a gold-colored conductor and the cathode a silver-colored one to make connections easier.
The LEDs are protected by a resin sleeve that adds mechanical strength and moisture resistance, making them easier to handle and a bit more robust than bare chips. Electrical specifications list a forward voltage near 3 V and compatibility with AC or DC sources; typical forward current is around 15 mA with a maximum rating near 20 mA. Because the diodes are supplied without inline resistors, safe operation at different supply voltages requires external limiting resistors.
To help with that, the package includes 30 resistors sized for three supply ranges (not pre-soldered): 30 for 3.5–5 V operation, 30 for 5–9 V operation, and 30 for 9–14 V operation. The LEDs work well in very confined spaces — scale models, small shadowboxes, instrument displays, and retrofits — but the fine insulation on the leads can require scraping or heating away to expose the copper before soldering. The kit does not include any housings or model components shown in illustrative photos.
Pros
- Prewired for easy installation in tight spaces
- Resin-coated for added durability and moisture resistance
- Resistors included for multiple voltage ranges
Cons
- Wires are extremely thin and require careful handling
- Resistors are not soldered to the leads
- Encapsulation can change light directionality
VerdictA practical lighting pack for diorama builders, hobbyists, and anyone needing ultra-small, prewired LEDs. The resin-covered 0603 SMDs save the fiddly task of attaching leads, and the included resistors let you run the lights from a variety of common voltages. They put out a warm white tone and draw typical LED currents suitable for small displays. The hair-thin wires demand careful handling and ba

Really neat
Impressive little components — visually very cool and useful for small projects.

Packaging description felt misleading
The protective resin sleeve turned out larger than I expected and the LED element sits to one side, so the beam is off-axis rather than projecting straight ahead. The product details made the package seem smaller and more forward-facing than the actual parts.

Tiny but bright
These are some of the smallest LEDs I’ve handled and they put out a lot of light for their size. They lack built-in resistors and the insulation on the leads is hair-thin — you’ll need to scrape or melt it to solder. I scraped mine with scissors without breaking them.

Good for small display lighting
With the resistors fitted the LEDs aren’t blinding but they brighten small displays nicely. I used them in four-inch boxes and they worked well, with a slightly cool-leaning white.

Prefer the resin-coated versions
These are nicer than the uncoated LEDs I’ve used before. The wires are surprisingly durable; they can hold their shape and be bent to fit into tight spots.

Great kit for diorama lighting
Bought these so my granddaughter could add lights to the tiny dioramas she makes. The pack comes with limit resistors for different supply ranges which made setup straightforward. They put out a pleasant warm white and worked fine when powered from a 5 V adapter.

Well made and versatile
I’ve enjoyed using these in miniature theater boxes. They replaced unreliable tiny lamps and adapted well to the small enclosures I work with.

Compact and convenient
The LEDs are small and flexible for many uses, and the pack includes the correct resistor for each of three voltage bands. If you don’t want to calculate resistor values yourself, having the matched parts is very helpful.

Perfect for restoring old displays
I threaded these through the front panels of older ICOM and KENWOOD units to replace burned incandescent bulbs. They fit through tight gaps and produced cleaner, more consistent illumination than the originals.
