Product review

Complete five-piece kit: This set contains five chisels in 6mm, 12mm, 18mm, 24mm and 32mm widths to cover a wide range of carving, trimming and fitting tasks.

Durable construction: Each blade is made from carbon steel with a bevel grind for effective cutting. The blade tangs are firmly seated into molded plastic handles, giving reliable mechanical connection for everyday use.

Handle design: The grips are formed from a hard, non-slip plastic to improve control and reduce slippage during use. The top of each handle features a reinforced steel striking cap so the tool can be hammered with a metal hammer or a wooden mallet without damaging the handle.

Blade protection and finish: Blades are lightly oiled to resist rust during storage and transport. Every chisel includes a black plastic edge guard to shield tips from damage and to help prevent accidental cuts when you reach into a toolbox.

Suitable materials: These chisels are intended for use on softwoods, hardwoods and laminated boards. They arrive with a sharp edge adequate for routine work but will respond well to further sharpening for fine paring.

Use case: Well suited for hobby woodworkers, carpenters needing a basic set, and DIY enthusiasts who want a range of widths for cutting, cleaning out joints, or shaping edges.

Pros

  • Hardened carbon-steel bevel blades
  • Steel striking caps for hammering
  • Plastic edge guards and anti-corrosion oil

Cons

  • Hard plastic grips can be uncomfortable for long sessions
  • Edges may need extra sharpening for precision work
  • No dedicated storage case included

VerdictA practical, no-frills chisel set that delivers sturdy construction and useful blade protection. Blades are ready for general work out of the box but will benefit from honing for finer joinery. Handles resist slipping and the steel caps let you tap with confidence, though a storage case is not included.

Reviews

  1. M. B. 5/5

    Well made and effective

Solidly made and they perform as expected. I’d give them an extra star if I could.

  2. Mr.Chill 3/5

    Not razor-sharp but serviceable

Edges were workable though not mirror-finish. Functional and inexpensive — adequate for quick jobs.

  3. Lucky Lady 5/5

    Reliable for casual projects

Used these on several small builds. Durability could be improved, but they handle the tasks I needed and hold an edge well enough.

  4. ME 5/5

    Stands up to regular use

They've taken some heavy knocks and are holding up. The edges could use a tune-up for cleaner slices. Packaging is simple, but tip guards help when stored in a toolbox.

  5. Don Drew 5/5

    Handy selection of widths

I used each chisel and liked having the different sizes available. They perform well across basic trimming and fitting tasks.

  6. William P 4/5

    Gets the job done

Sharp enough for routine work. No frills but functional and dependable for everyday carving and clean-up.

  7. Wee jimmy 5/5

    Good value and performed well

I’m not a pro, but the feel and results matched more expensive brands for my projects. They completed the jobs I set out to do.

  8. lili 5/5

    Solid build for hobby use

I'm a hobbyist and these feel sturdy. Handles seem tough and the metal strike cap is well attached. The grip is on the firm side for long sessions, but edges were sharp out of the box and each blade has a protective plastic tip.
