Product review
Hickory drumsticks fitted with teardrop-shaped wooden tips.
0.565" diameter — 16.5" length — pack contains four pairs.
The Extreme 5A takes the familiar 5A profile and adds approximately a half inch to the overall length, offering increased leverage and reach around a drum kit while maintaining the same general balance. These sticks are turned from premium USA hickory, use a medium taper for a versatile response, and are sealed with a clear lacquer to protect the wood.
The teardrop wood tip produces a warm, full-bodied cymbal tone and provides a dependable rebound on snare. Sold as a multi-pair value pack, they’re practical for rehearsals, recording sessions and live performances when you want consistent feel and spare sticks ready to go.
Pros
- Extra half-inch for added reach and power
- Warm cymbal tone from teardrop wood tip
- Four-pair pack keeps spares available
Cons
- Slightly thicker feel for some players
- Lacquer finish may wear with heavy use
- Not the lightest option for delicate playing
VerdictThese Extreme 5A sticks give drummers additional reach and power without radically changing the 5A balance players expect. Constructed from USA hickory with a medium taper and teardrop tip, they deliver a warm cymbal sound and reliable durability. The four-pair pack is practical for gigging and practice. Good for players who want a bit more leverage and spare sticks on hand.

Fantastic sticks — lightweight and a touch thicker than competing models, which I like.
