Construction and accessories: These PROHEAR 033 headphones use an ABS outer shell and come with a soft padded headband and skin-friendly ear cushions. The ear pads use an anti-sweat material and are designed with a snap-in mounting for easy removal and replacement. A protective carry bag and a wired AUX cable are included.

Battery and charging: This updated version replaces the older 3.5 mm charging method with USB-C and includes a 1500 mAh rechargeable lithium battery. The manufacturer states up to 58 hours of continuous playback in Bluetooth mode and up to 125 hours when used wired via the included AUX cable.

Audio, connectivity and controls: Fitted with high-fidelity speakers and Bluetooth 5.4, these muffs deliver clear audio for music and calls. A set of multifunction buttons on the cups let you answer, end, decline or redial calls. There is also a wired AUX input for connecting non-Bluetooth sources.

Radio tuner and presets: The built-in digital AM/FM tuner can scan and save radio channels, with memory for up to 10 AM and 10 FM stations so you can quickly switch between favorite broadcasts while working.

Hearing protection and fit: Certified to ANSI S3.19 with a 31 dB SNR, these ear muffs substantially reduce hazardous noise (for example, lowering an 80 dB environment to roughly 55 dB at the ear). The headband is adjustable and cushioned for longer wear, and the ear cushions are made to resist sweat during outdoor tasks.

Quality control and support: Units are inspected before packing and shipped in an attractive box. The maker offers customer support for questions or issues and claims responsive after-sales assistance.

Pros

  • Strong noise reduction (31 dB SNR) with HIFI audio
  • Long battery life and USB-C charging
  • FM/AM radio with 20 total station presets and AUX input

Cons

  • Firm clamping force can become uncomfortable for some
  • Phone calls work only in Bluetooth mode, not while using the radio
  • Radio station programming can be unintuitive

VerdictA versatile set of radio head muffs that combine certified 31 dB SNR noise reduction with Bluetooth 5.4 audio and long battery life. Strong build, comfortable fit and a stored-station radio make them useful for yard work or noisy jobs. Tight clamp and limited call handling while in radio mode are the main compromises.

Reviews

  1. Ed Humphreys 5/5

    Reliable choice

Well made and good value for what they offer.

  2. Steve 5/5

    Impressive sound while mowing

Protects against loud mower noise and delivers great music. Charges quickly and keeps its charge for days of intermittent use.

  3. Mark 5/5

    Solid and dependable

Happy with the build quality. Pairs fast with my phone, comfortable and durable. I wear them for mowing while streaming music via Bluetooth.

  4. Dkspill 5/5

    Great for a landscaper

Bought for my son who mows professionally. He says they’re comfortable, soft, sturdy and the radio reception is very good.

  5. D.S. 3/5

Nice sound but a couple limits

Good protection and audio quality. You can only take phone calls when in Bluetooth mode, so if you listen to the radio you won’t get call controls. Also the clamp is quite strong and can become uncomfortable after about half an hour.

  6. Larry S 4/5

    Good but I added earbuds

Bluetooth connection is fast and stable and the radio works well. Battery life is excellent—many mowing sessions before needing a recharge. For louder mowing I wear my own over-ear buds under these to increase volume.

  7. Amber philbrick 5/5

    Would buy again

Bought for my husband to use while mowing and trimming. They block noise well, are rechargeable, and he can wear them for hours with no discomfort.

  8. IDKmyName 5/5

    Works well with hearing aids

I’m hard of hearing and wear powerful behind-the-ear aids. These fit over them with no feedback or squeal. I can use the headset’s Bluetooth or my hearing aids’ connection for calls. Even with my aids on their charger I wore these and heard very clearly. Charged them and used them eight hours in one day with no issues.

  9. Chico 5/5

Prefer these over my old pair

Better sound quality and superior hearing protection compared with my previous muffs.

  10. Terry Dillon 3/5

    Good protection but snug fit

They work well but the fit is tight. It would be better if the head tension allowed more adjustment.

  11. Harpat 5/5

    Exactly what I wanted

I’ve used these three months while trimming and mowing. They sit snugly on my larger head and block ambient noise well. I listen to radio stations while I work and they’ve never died mid-job; I recharge after each session out of habit.

  12. Glen Gordon I 4/5

    Pleasantly surprised

I worried about audio because of my hearing loss, but the sound is clear. They handled radio playback fine while I ran a push mower. I haven’t mastered programming presets yet, which is why I marked ease-of-use lower.
