Cross-flow design and circulation
This wavemaker uses cross-flow technology to spread water movement across a full 360° arc rather than a single directional jet. That produces softer, more natural currents that reduce dead spots and encourage more even water movement across the tank, creating attractive surface ripple patterns and encouraging fish activity.

Included items and power
The package includes the cylindrical pump unit with magnetic mounting base, a wired LED display controller, and a 24V DC power brick. The controller supports master/slave linking so multiple pumps can be synchronized from one controller. The unit runs on 24V DC and the power supply is a separate brick with region-specific prongs.

Size, output and construction
Overall body dimensions are 11.1 inches long and 2.4 inches in diameter. Maximum rated power is 25W with a peak flow up to about 2380 GPH, making it suitable for tanks as large as roughly 265 gallons. The impeller rides on a ceramic shaft for durable rotation and reduced wear. The head is rotatable so the jet direction can be angled to produce varied flow patterns.

Controller features and modes
The LED controller provides multiple wave patterns (pulse, sine, constant, random and cross-flow), adjustable flow rate across many steps, frequency adjustment, a feeding pause, night mode and linkage settings. You can chain multiple pumps so secondary units follow the primary controller, allowing coordinated flow across larger setups.

Placement and typical use
Mounting options and the magnetic base let you place the unit near the top to produce visible surface waves, mid-height for a stream-of-bubbles/flow effect, or near the substrate to lift debris and keep detritus suspended for filtration. The quiet sine-wave drive keeps noise to a minimum under normal conditions; occasional sounds most often come from foreign objects in the intake or from incorrect reassembly after cleaning.

Pros

  • Natural 360° cross-flow creates soft, ocean-like currents
  • Comprehensive LED controller with many modes and slave linking
  • High flow (up to 2380 GPH) in a compact, magnet-mounted body

Cons

  • Controller display is not backlit and can be hard to read
  • Intake slots may be large enough to trap small fins
  • Power brick uses a US plug—adapter needed in other regions

VerdictA flexible, feature-rich wave maker that generates gentle, multi-directional flow suitable for large freshwater and marine aquaria. The LED controller offers many presets and fine-grain control of speed and frequency, and the magnetic mounting makes repositioning simple. Performance and build quality earn praise from many users, and the pump runs quietly in normal use. Expect to address intake pro

    Nearly perfect but safety concern

Flow is fantastic and fish respond to it, but intake slots are wide enough that a fish fin got trapped and died. I’ll be installing a finer guard and keeping this off until that’s resolved. Performance-wise it’s excellent, but protect small or long-finned fish.

  2. Josh 4/5

    Runs well after a break-in

Made some odd noises at first but they faded after about a week. It’s been running great for months now and is easy to dial to the flow I want.

  3. AJ Cole 5/5

    Impressive setup

Really well thought out — the controller can manage multiple pumps so one unit acts as the master and the others follow. Installation was easy and the linked control makes multi-pump setups simple.

  4. Scott B. 5/5

    Does the job

Excellent wavemaker — bought a pair for a 125 gallon but discovered a single unit handled my needs. Very effective.

  5. Lori Sitkoff 5/5

    Quiet, sturdy, and long-lasting

I’ve used two in a 125-gallon marine tank for a long time and they’ve outperformed and outlived pricier units I tried before. They’re nearly silent unless something is stuck in the intake or you’ve misassembled them after cleaning. Proper placement gives strong, visible surface waves — I’d recommend them based on decades of aquarium experience.

  6. Metzger 5/5

    Strong circulation

Installed about 6" down on the far side of my 125 reef and it moves lots of water. The reversible flow is handy and pairs well with other heads to create varied current. Occasionally it produces a surface vortex, which just shows how much water it pushes.

    Works well; US plug heads-up

Running sine wave at about 80% on my 650L reef and so far it’s behaving well. The power brick has a US two-prong plug so non-US buyers will need an adapter. I did see a blocked impeller early on but it hasn’t reoccurred.

  8. Habichuela Chiari 5/5

    Ocean-like flow for my tank

Plenty of power and it gives my tank that natural ocean movement. Setup was straightforward and my corals in a 55-gallon system have never looked healthier with regard to flow.

    Outstanding value

Bought one, then a second after liking the first. Replaced older circulation pumps and found these easy to mount, adjustable, and well built with ceramic impeller bearings. They delivered similar performance to higher-priced options at a fraction of the cost.

  10. Kevin C 3/5

Product seems fine but shipping delayed

The pump appears to perform well and time will tell on longevity. Delivery was late from the seller, so I’m docked stars for the slow shipping more than the product itself.

  11. John K 3/5

    Good pump, frustrating controller display

The unit itself pumps a lot and feels solid, but the controller screen is glossy and not backlit so it can be hard to read without moving it into light. Functionally it works—set it and forget it—but visibility is a real annoyance.
