Product review

This learning kit bundles three analog weather instruments designed for young learners. The package contains a 3" barometer for tracking atmospheric pressure, a hygrometer to estimate relative humidity, and a thermometer showing both Celsius and Fahrenheit readings. Every instrument is fitted with its own small stand so each dial can be displayed separately or stored inside the included molded carrying case. An illustrated activity guide explains what each instrument measures and suggests simple experiments and observation exercises. Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Use is simple and hands-on: the barometer’s 3" dial lets children watch pressure trends that often precede changing weather; the hygrometer gives a reading of moisture in the air; the dual-scale thermometer provides quick temperature checks in either °C or °F. Instruments can be set up on a desk, mounted on their stands for demonstrations, or carried outdoors for short-term observations. Avoid leaving the thermometer exposed to heavy rain or direct water contact to prevent damage.

The units are housed in child-friendly, impact-resistant plastic with clear faces for easy reading. The removable circular gauges nest neatly into the blue carrying case for transport between home and classroom. Because these are classroom-grade teaching tools, they prioritize durability and ease of use over laboratory-level precision—ideal for observation, experiments, and sparking curiosity about weather.

Pros

  • Removable dials with individual stands
  • Comes with a hands-on activity guide
  • Compact carrying case for easy transport

Cons

  • Not as precise as professional meters
  • Thermometer isn’t suited for prolonged wet exposure
  • Barometer can respond slowly to pressure changes

VerdictA straightforward, portable weather kit aimed at introducing children to atmospheric measurements. The removable dials and lesson guide make it useful for classrooms or home science; keep expectations realistic about precision compared with laboratory-grade meters.

Reviews

  1. Yesenia Contreras 5/5

    Held up during intense conditions

During an EF2 event the instruments reacted and gave readings, though afterward one dial began rotating oddly and needed attention.

  2. movie reviewer 1/5

    Didn’t last long for us

Disappointed it broke quickly after light use; bought to help grandkids learn about weather but it didn’t hold up.

  3. Marjorie 5/5

    Well made and dependable

Simple construction and solid feel. It performs as expected for an educational tool.

  4. J.O. Hullock. 5/5

    Useful because dials are removable

Appreciated the ability to remove each dial on its own for closer inspection or tabletop displays.

  5. Clean heart 5/5

Great gift for a curious 10-year-old

Gave this to my grandson for his 10th birthday and he’s been experimenting with it non-stop. He really enjoys tracking conditions.

  6. Thomas 5/5

    Fun design kids appreciate

My children enjoy using it together. Each circular instrument comes out with a small stand, or you can leave them seated in the blue case for storage.

  7. Tony 4/5

    Reliable when a storm arrived

Bought ahead of a hurricane; the barometer reflected pressure changes accurately. Compared to pricier units there was minimal variance—good for teaching and quick checks.

  8. Melanie Becwar 5/5

    Excellent for homeschool science sessions

We’ve used this set for hands-on weather lessons at home. Children can handle each piece separately or set them up together; the dials are readable and robust. One practical snag: the thermometer isn’t appropriate for checking temperatures directly in the rain. Otherwise it’s worked well, surviving a few drops and the occasional fall.

  9. ssgtguy 3/5

    Barometer seems sluggish

The barometer barely shifted even as a strong storm moved in. It’s fine for basic trends but not very responsive for rapid changes.

  10. Scooter 5/5

    Handy and transportable

Nice little teaching set—sturdy enough to tote between activities and simple to use for quick demonstrations.
