Certified protection — Each alarm is tested to UL 2034 5th Edition standards and carries CSFM approval for residential carbon monoxide detection, meeting NFPA installation expectations. These units are designed to protect living spaces, rental units and vacation properties. Do not place them in garages, workshops, or directly under vehicle mufflers or tailpipes. Operating temperatures are 40°F to 100°F (4.4°C to 37.8°C); performance can be affected outside that range.

Battery-powered portability — The alarm runs on two replaceable AA batteries (not a plug-in model), allowing you to put it where it’s needed without relying on household wiring or outlets. Batteries must be replaced when the low-battery alert sounds; replacement is required over the life of the alarm.

Live digital display and staged alerts — A clear LCD shows live CO readings starting at 20 ppm and reports up to 999 ppm so you can see current conditions. The unit uses a multi-stage alert system: a 30 ppm early warning for slow low-level buildup, a loud 85 dB danger alarm for hazardous concentrations, and a 12-hour alarm memory that records events you may have missed while away.

Flexible placement and easy setup — No electrician or wiring required. Use the provided full hardware kit to wall-mount, or set the unit on any flat surface for immediate operation. A safety interlock prevents closing the battery compartment without batteries installed. After inserting batteries the detector completes a brief warm-up period of roughly 100 seconds before normal monitoring begins.

Compact size for home and travel — Each detector measures approximately 4.09 inches long × 2.89 inches high × 1.43 inches deep and weighs about 4.37 ounces, making it unobtrusive in bedrooms, living areas, basements, RVs, cabins and short-term rentals. Its small footprint also makes it convenient to carry on trips.

Simple controls and maintenance — A single Test/Hush button performs weekly self-checks and silences nuisance alarms. The hush function temporarily mutes nuisance CO alerts for about 4 minutes, suppresses low-battery chirps for roughly 12 hours, and silences end-of-life notices for about 48 hours while the detector continues to monitor CO. The sensor is designed for typical residential service life expectations.

Pros

  • Live PPM LCD for immediate CO level awareness
  • Portable battery operation for flexible placement
  • Multi-stage alerts with event memory

Cons

  • Requires periodic AA battery replacement
  • Not suitable for garages or directly under exhaust
  • No hardwired or plug-in power option

Reviews

  1. david greely 4/5

    Easy to mount

    Very straightforward to install.

  2. Gosig Marsvin 5/5

Shows live levels; loud and sturdy

I wished there were a cheaper commercial test kit, but I confirmed sensing using incense and the unit registered a small increase in ppm. The test button is loud and the alarm is very audible. The unit is small, solidly built, and the mounting bracket lets you remove it easily for battery changes. Overall I feel safer having it in the house.

  3. David Fortman 5/5

    Quicker, more informative alerts

A compact unit that reports actual CO concentrations below the standard reporting threshold, giving an extra safety margin.

  4. Griselda Hurtado 5/5

    Performs reliably

Does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

  5. Anh 5/5

    Compact, clear display and dependable

The tiny footprint exceeded my expectations — it’s light, unobtrusive and can be placed anywhere without wiring. I keep mine on my dresser. The bright digital readout shows exact PPM values and the low-level 20 ppm warning gives early notice without false triggers. The screen is legible in daylight and at night, and certification to current UL standards provided extra confidence.

  6. Cel 5/5

    Small, battery-operated and versatile

This compact CO alarm runs on two AA batteries and can sit on a counter or be attached to the included wall bracket. The digital screen is easy to read and a red LED flashes during alerts while a loud audible alarm is also present. Batteries are easy to replace and there’s a front-panel button for quick functional checks. The housing is fire resistant and the unit meets common certifications; the sensor is rated for a typical multi-year service life and reads reliably above 20 ppm.

  7. R. Bustin Jr. 5/5

Clear PPM readout and good value

I like being able to see the ppm level at a glance, and the overall value was impressive.
