Product review

Pixel Buds Pro 2 are presented as a comfortable, secure pair of wireless earbuds engineered for immersive audio and seamless voice assistance. The package includes a pair of earbuds and a compact charging case with USB-C charging support. The shells have a soft-touch matte finish in the Peony color, and the ear tips and stabilizers are made of pliable silicone to seat in the ear canal while the twist-to-adjust stabilizer lets you lock the buds into place for workouts or ease them for long wear.

Inside each bud sits an 11 mm driver plus a dedicated high-frequency chamber to deliver punchy bass and clear treble; spatial audio with head tracking is available to create a wider soundstage. Active Noise Cancellation uses Silent Seal 2.0 to reduce ambient noise up to twice as much as prior models, and Adaptive Audio automatically balances isolation and awareness depending on your surroundings. The earbuds are powered by Google’s Tensor audio processing, which helps with advanced audio tuning and clearer voice pickup.

For voice and assistant features, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 are built to work with Gemini, enabling on-device queries, note-taking, and scheduling by voice. Microphones and audio processing are tuned for call clarity even in noisy environments. The design aims to be compact and stay put during movement; multiple stabilizer positions and adjustable fit options let you find a secure seal. Controls are touch-based for playback and assistant access, and the charging case stores and powers the buds between uses.

    Extremely durable and comfortable

Awesome earbuds — ANC outperformed other premium buds I’ve tried and they stay put during long listening sessions. Fast charging and all-day comfort make them perfect for audiobooks. I’ve accidentally washed and dried them twice and left them in heavy rain; audio and connectivity remained stable, though some paint over the speaker grille is fading. I’d recommend them for durability.

Major upgrade over the original Pro

I owned the first Pro for years but battery life was inconsistent. The Pro 2 fixed that — battery lasts much longer and the buds are a bit smaller and more comfortable. Noise cancellation is dramatically improved, and the audio quality is noticeably cleaner. The porcelain/Peony finish is an off-white matte that doesn’t scream for attention. Overall a solid step up from the earlier model.

Absolutely impressed with fit and sound

I'm extremely picky about audio and thought wired was superior — these changed my mind. They fit comfortably out of the box and I barely notice them after an hour. Pairing with my Pixel 11 Pro XL was instant and my Windows laptop connected quickly too. Noise canceling removed most of a fan sound but still let my phone ring through. The sound quality is the most surprising part — clarity across highs and a satisfying low end that rivals wired sets I've preferred in the past.

Stunning audio, but touch controls disappoint

These sound incredible in real-world use, but the touch controls are problematic in hot or sweaty conditions. Taps often don’t register or are read as long presses, forcing me to pull an earbud out or use my phone to pause. That reliability issue is significant enough that it lowered my overall enthusiasm despite the superb audio.

Great for Gemini, otherwise solid but imperfect

The Gemini voice integration is excellent — 'Hey Google' works reliably even in noisy cafés and understands me well. Occasionally the assistant stops responding and needs a quick app restart, and Gemini itself can be inconsistent. Microphones capture my voice clearly but sometimes sound slightly processed. I haven’t had issues being heard on calls, which is the most important thing, and the controls are generally good.

  6. EagleJoe 5/5

Mind blown — phenomenal audio and secure fit

After trying Beats and Bose, these surprised me. They stay firmly in place even with vigorous movement and the sound is cleaner and fuller than my previous earbuds. Touch controls for skip, pause, and answer are intuitive, and the swipe-to-adjust volume is incredibly convenient. Only a small gripe: one feature behaved oddly occasionally, but the audio and fit make them a standout.

  7. SALMAN 4/5

    Improved microphone and audio

Clearer microphone pickup and noticeably better overall sound compared to prior models I owned.

Falls short compared to Pro 2 on other devices

I compared these to Pro 2 units while using an iPhone and was disappointed. Getting a secure, comfortable fit felt more difficult; there are fewer fitting options and twisting to lock them in made them feel less natural. Noise cancellation was noticeably weaker than the Pro 2. They simply didn’t integrate as well for my setup and I didn’t find them as comfortable as expected.

Defective unit out of the box

Not a complaint about the design, but my unit arrived with one earpiece damaged. It heated up when I tried to pair and then failed to connect. Buyer should inspect components on arrival.

Volume failure after one month — avoid

The right earbud dropped to very low volume after about a month. I mostly used only the right bud, and now I've had to switch to the left. Not confident the other bud won’t follow. Highly not recommended based on this experience.

  11. Daniel Rodriguez 3/5

    Función regular — audio robótico

El audio suena un poco robótico. Al correr se nota mucho el golpeteo entre audífonos y piel. No vale la pena actualizar desde la primera versión, en mi opinión.

  12. Dobie Tanpaw 5/5

Great sound, easy pairing, very satisfying

I switched from older Bose QC30s and these impressed me. Pairing with my Pixel 7 Pro was seamless and the default EQ is balanced with crisp highs and solid mids. The heavy-bass setting adds punch without drowning other frequencies. The lack of a neck yoke is freeing and the fit is more comfortable for all-day wear.
