Product review

What’s included: one large 1.06 lb (480 g) block of Demon Hyper wax, packaged as a single solid brick intended for repeated hot-wax applications.
Origin and composition: formulated and manufactured in Southern California, this product is described as a proprietary blend designed for universal performance. The manufacturer markets it as a premium mix for general-season use.
How to use: apply by heating the wax with a tuning iron, spreading an even layer over the base, letting it cool, then scraping and brushing to polish the structure. Reviewers commonly iron it on, scrape, and finish with a brush for best glide.
Performance and feel: the block carries a distinct fragrance, melts readily at typical hot-iron temperatures, and provides many applications thanks to its size. It’s intended to function across cold to warm snow but performs best as a convenient, all-purpose wax rather than a temperature-specific race product.

Pros

  • Large 1.06 lb block provides many applications
  • Works across a wide temperature range
  • Made in the USA with a long-lasting formula

Cons

  • Hard surface can be difficult to scrape cleanly
  • Not optimized for extreme slush or race tuning
  • Universal blend sacrifices some specialized performance

VerdictDemon Hyper is a hefty universal wax block that delivers dependable glide across a wide range of temperatures. It’s made from a proprietary blend in Southern California and offers long life per block. It won’t replace temperature-specific race waxes in extreme conditions, and the hard surface can be stubborn at removal, but for home tuning and all-around use it’s an economical, high-volume option.

Reviews

  1. kmarchionda 5/5

Dependable all-temp wax for home tuning

Been riding decades and tuning gear at home. This iron-on universal wax handled runs in negative temps up to around 50°F without issue.

  2. David M. Heivly 5/5

Consistently strong performer on Colorado snow

I’ve used this over multiple seasons and it keeps up with shop waxes I’ve seen. Reliable glide and holds up day after day.

  3. Zhi Min Li 5/5

    Will buy again

Works very well on both skis and snowboards. The scent is nice and it lasts a long time.

  4. Teighan 5/5

    Huge block, lots of uses

Ordered for my partner and the brick is enormous. A single block goes a long way.

  5. Jeff Mullen 4/5

Fast glide when finished, scraping can be tough

Great universal glide if you take the time to scrape and brush properly. Not my choice for very slushy spring days, and it’s a bit stubborn to remove compared with softer waxes.

  6. JC 5/5

    Easy to apply, pleasant scent

Simple to work with on boards and skis. Spreads and finishes smoothly — the smell reminded me of waxed candles.

  7. Mark 5/5

    Solid performance

Works well, dependable for regular maintenance.

  8. Jared 5/5

A greener option for everyday waxing

I switched after learning about PFAS concerns. This wax avoids that issue, melts between about 120–140°F, and holds up well for general use. It’s a large block and represents good value for regular tuners.

  9. Dave Rave 5/5

    Comparable to higher-end hot-wax bricks

I’d used a different 340 g hot-wax for years on warm spring days. This 480 g Demon block performed the same over a weekend of mixed spring conditions. My son tested one ski with each wax and couldn’t tell a difference in glide.

  10. dave 5/5

Great for cool conditions, not ideal in late spring slush

Used on several ski sets with good results for most of the season. In warmer, softened-snow spring conditions skis felt sticky. Still a useful go-to for about 90% of the year.

  11. Jeffrey Gao 5/5

    Makes home waxing straightforward

Arrived quickly and did the job on a test pair of skis. Easy to work with.

  12. Pirateboarder 5/5

Helped me learn to wax my own board

I started doing my own tunes and wanted an easy, economical all-temp wax. It applies and scrapes cleanly, and the big block means plenty of uses while I build confidence.

  13. Hildo 4/5

    Good universal wax and budget-friendly

Performs as expected for an all-temperature wax. Scent is mild. Leans toward the warmer end of all-temp formulas, so very cold, sub -20°C snow may feel sticky. Works well as a cleaner for sintered bases and even includes a sticker.
